Along the wa y he passes t hrough a gold mi ning Town. The miners help direct Mortimer to the Apache and send him on his way.
Mort imer enters the forest and begins to tr a ck the Ap ache. Ba ck i n town , the miners u n-e arth a n ancient meteor. They use their pi ck axe s to crack it ope n. A s ection of the meteor splits apar t and sp ores explod e out of it. The spore surround and infect the entire population of the mini ng camp. They are t ransformed in to raveno us mutants.
After a vicious battle against the Apache warrior, Mo rtimer exits the forest w ith h is prisoner in shackles. T hey hike back to the mini ng t own to find them selves su rrounded by a horde o f blood thirsty mu tants.
